Standing tall as one of the pioneering forces behind the UK Sludge scene, I catch up with front man Jon from Liverpool based band Conan to discuss their presence in the movement and how this underground phenomena has grown into annual festivals like Damnation
With Conan signing to Napalm records and the release of the formidable ‘Blood eagle’ album in 2014 the band have been taken to new heights in their career, the release has not only been the bands most successful to date, it’s also given them the opportunity to venture out of Europe and hit North America for the first time on a headlining tour. I check in with the band at the Oakland Metro Opera house to see how the tour is shaping up and find out more about their US fans and scheduled appearances at this year’s Psycho California fest and the famous Maryland death fest.
With the release of their ground breaking album last year I discover the guys have been in the studio working on the follow up, hear more about Conan’s time in there, plus some information on their latest UK tour dates and the future plan for the sludge lords.
CONAN will kick off a UK headline tour in Edinburgh on June 5, 2015.
